Big Tour Through Iceland

Iceland is a country of magical northern fairytales. A small island in the Atlantic Ocean, which amazes everyone who has been there.

You will see unique landscapes, which were formed under the influence of ancient glaciers. Iceland has become an inspiration for many filmmakers. Therefore you will have the opportunity to visit the ice planet from Interstellar, the land behind the wall from Game of Thrones and the waterfall from the key scene of Prometheus.
Learn to pronounce the names of all the waterfalls in Iceland
Let's walk through the frozen lava fields
Go down into the crater of a dormant volcano
We will cross several rivers by wading in a 4WD jeep
Take a boat ride to the icebergs
Take a walk in the rainbow mountains
We will drive around the entire island and get a real feel for the atmosphere in which the Vikings lived.

Cold Iceland will warm you up with its hot thermae, where you can relax after a long walk. And will impress you with hot geysers, which burst out of the bowels of the earth with incredible force.
We can also watch beautiful northern birds and whales, walk on a 1,000-year-old glacier and even taste it, take a boat trip on Glacier Lagoon, and see a variety of Icelandic churches.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TOUR

ITINERARY

Day 1
Reykjavik
Today you arrive in the capital of Iceland, our guide meet you in the airport, together you rent a jeep anddrive to apartments in the city center. Already feeling free like the main character in the movie "The Incredible Life of Walter Mitty".
Day 2
Reykjavik
Today, after breakfast we have a short city tour around Reykjavik, and head out for an adventure in the heart of the island! Unfortunately 99% of the tours in Iceland are just a bus ride around the main circle of the island, but the most exciting experiences are in the center of the island. You can get there only in summer by four-wheel drive car. That's what we're going to do!

We will visit the Haifoss waterfall, the second highest in Iceland. Then we will visit the valley of Gyain, which resembles New Zealand in its views.

We will spend the night in a guesthouse on a real farm with a view of the volcano and the glacier.
day 3
Landmannalaugar
There are virtually no group tours to the Landmannalaugar valley, and that's a pity! This is the rhyolite colored mountains, the name translates from Icelandic as the land of bathing or thermal springs. Icelanders themselves call this place "the pearl of the mountains". You fall in love with this place from the first moment: an endless variety of geological formations, steaming hot springs and rivers, frozen lava and colorful rhyolite mountains, which change colors depending on the light.

We will hike some of the most popular trails and then restore our strength in a natural warm thermal pool.
Day 4
Vik
We go to see the most famous places along the circular road - the waterfall, which can be bypassed from the backside , the waterfall in the cave, the waterfall which is the country's calling card, Dirkholei cape and probably the puffins, black sand beach and basalt rocks. We'll buy delicious fish in the market in Vik. In the evening, if desired, you can go to the track to the fallen plane DC-3.
Day 5
Laki
Today we go to the most incredible place in the center of the island, to Laki Volcano, or more precisely, to the chain of more than 100 craters! Only with a four-wheel drive car you will find the most interesting road through the fords on the narrow passage through the frozen lava, covered with moss, among the crater lakes.

In the afternoon we rush to Skaftafell National Park to see the very unusual waterfall Svartifoss with basalt rocks. We spend the night in an amazing guesthouse next to the ice lagoon.
Day 6
Jökülsaurloun
Today is an ice day. In the morning we'll take a boat ride around the lagoon and see huge icebergs. We will really start to realize how different Iceland is, every minute the scenery is different and all of them are beautiful! We'll walk along the beach where the current brings chunks of ice right onto the shore, and we'll see sea lions.

After lunch we have our longest drive, almost 5 hours.

Upon arrival, we visit the third highest waterfall, which should not be missed at all - Hengifoss.
We spend the night in a family guest house, surrounded by mountains and picturesque nature.
Day 7
Myvatn
In the morning we drive 3 hours to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall of Europe, and see it from the center of action. This waterfall was shown in the film Prometheus by Ridley Scott as one of the landscapes of the prehistoric Earth.

Then we will explore the surroundings of Lake Myvatn, which are full of landmarks: the turquoise lake in the crater, a geothermal field where everything boils, a valley with frozen lava, a cave with a thermal spring where one of the episodes of Game of Thrones was filmed.

Before sunset, we'll head to the local Blue Lagoon. Here you can afford to relax until midnight, the bartenders bring drinks right into your hands. Here we have time to "digest" and discuss what you have already seen during the week. We stay overnight in a good guesthouse near the lake.
Day 8
Svinavatn
Today we will visit one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, Godaffos, also known as "God's waterfall".

Then we drive along the northern fjords, stop for lunch in a fishing town on the shores of the Greenland Sea, there we will see the oldest church in Iceland.

Overnight in a guesthouse in Svinavatn.
Day 9
Kedlingarfjödl
Early in the morning we cross the island from north to center for 2 hours and spend the whole day trekking in the most beautiful geothermal area of Iceland - Kedlingarfjödl. Absolutely wild beauty on an impressive scale. Green, reddish, yellow iridescent colored soil, steaming brook and clouds of steam bursting out of the ground, and in places snow caps on top.

There is also an opportunity to have a rest in a natural hot spring.

Overnight at a hotel in the Golden Ring area.
Day 10
Golden Ring
We will visit the iconic points of the so-called "Golden Ring" of Iceland.

We will see the most visited waterfall of the country - Gullfoss, the famous Geysir.
Stop for lunch at an unusual place - a tomato farm, a restaurant in a greenhouse.
Finally we will visit a place that resembles Mars.

HOW WE CREATE OUR TRIPS

  • We compose unique itineraries
We don't use popular guidebooks - we craft our own.
We explore each country and talk with locals before we bring our guests. Hence our tours inspire a burst of positive feedback and vivid emotions!

  • We handpick hotels
We choose 4- and 5-star hotels and screen them in person before the trip. We're confident that online photos and ratings of these hotels match reality. We choose the accommodation in the central parts of the cities or in convenient locations along the route to save time on travel.
  • We keep comfort in mind
We always prefer a short flight to a long trip by ground transportation. Chartered buses and public transportation are not about us. We use comfortable vehicles for all transfers and trips during the tour.
  • We elaborate the program
Our professional travel designers thoughtfully select sightseeing, events and tours for your program. The trip price includes all activities; no additional charges required.
